Privacy Policy
Effective October 23, 2026. Applies to the LineUp apps for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Android and Android TV.
- LineUp never sees or stores your streaming-service passwords.
- If you connect a streaming service with LineUp Plus, you sign in on that service's own page, the sign-in stays on your device, and LineUp reads your recent viewing there, on your device, to fill in your history.
- An account is optional. Without one, your services, watchlist and history stay on your device.
- With an account, we store your email and your LineUp library so it syncs between your devices.
- No ads, no ad tracking, and we don't sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
- You can delete your account and everything synced to it from inside the app at any time.
Who we are
LineUp is made by an independent developer ("we"). Contact: support@lineupwatch.app.
What we collect and why
| Data | When | Why | Where it's kept |
|---|---|---|---|
| Email address | Only if you create an account (email code, Sign in with Apple or Google) | To sign you in | Our account provider (Supabase) |
| Account ID, and your name if your Apple or Google sign-in shares it | With an account | To identify your account | Supabase |
| Your selected services and settings | Always on your device; synced with an account | To show titles on the services you have | Your device; Supabase if signed in |
| Watchlist, watched episodes and movies, and where you left off | Always on your device; synced with an account | Continue Watching, history and your watchlist on every device | Your device; Supabase if signed in |
| Viewing sessions: which title you opened in which streaming app, on which kind of device, when, and measured time in that app | When you press Play; synced with an account | To estimate where you left off and offer to continue on another device | Your device; Supabase if signed in |
| Streaming-app open/close times | Only if you set up the optional Shortcuts automation | To measure how long you watched | Your device only, deleted after two weeks |
| Screen Time usage checkpoints | Only on iPhone/iPad if you turn on Screen Time tracking and grant permission | To measure how long you watched | Your device only. Apple identifies apps to us only by anonymous tokens |
| Viewing history from connected services: recent titles and episodes and how far you got | Only with LineUp Plus on iPhone/iPad, for services you connect, while the app is open (at most every few hours) | To mark what you've watched and pick up where you left off | Read on your device. What it finds is saved to your library (above). Show names are looked up through our server to match them to our catalog, without your identity |
| Sign-in sessions for connected services | When you sign in to a service in LineUp Plus | So LineUp can read your viewing on that service | Your device only, in separate private storage for each service. We never receive them. Disconnecting erases it |
| Which services you've connected (names only) | With LineUp Plus and an account | To offer reconnecting on your other devices | Your device; Supabase if signed in |
| LineUp Plus subscription status | If you subscribe | To unlock Plus | Apple handles payment. The app only checks with Apple whether your subscription is active; we never receive payment details |
| Search text | When you search or browse | To find titles. It is not linked to your account | Our server and its short-term cache (up to 7 days); passed to our catalog data provider |
| Voice for voice search | Only while you use the microphone in Search | To turn speech into a search | Processed by Apple's speech recognition (on your device where supported); on Android by your device's speech service. We never receive or store audio |
| IP address and basic request data | When the app talks to our server | To protect the service from abuse (rate limiting) | Our server's memory and short-lived logs |
We don't collect your location, contacts, photos or advertising identifiers. We don't know what you watch inside streaming apps, except on services you connect with LineUp Plus, as described above.
Service providers we use
- Supabase: accounts, sign-in and database for synced data.
- Fly.io: hosts the LineUp server that looks up titles.
- Streaming Availability API (Movie of the Night): catalog and availability data. Receives search text from our server, never your identity. Posters and logos load from its image servers, which see your device's IP address.
- Apple and Google: optional sign-in, speech recognition, app distribution, and LineUp Plus payments (Apple). Crash reports reach us only if you've allowed your device to share them.
- Resend: sends your sign-in codes.
These providers process data for us under their own terms and security practices. We don't allow them to use it for their own advertising.
How long we keep it
Account data is kept until you delete your account. Search caches expire within 7 days, and server logs are short-lived. Data on your device stays until you delete the app.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account: Profile → Delete account. This permanently removes your account and all synced data.
- Use without an account: everything except syncing works signed out.
- Disconnect a service: Profile → Connected services → Disconnect erases that service's sign-in from your device. History already added stays in your library until you remove it or delete your account.
- Turn off tracking: remove the Shortcuts automation or turn off Screen Time tracking at any time.
- Access or correction: email us and we'll respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live (for example, California), you may have additional rights; we honor them for everyone.
Children
LineUp isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Each account can only read its own synced data, enforced by the database. No method is perfectly secure, but we limit what we collect so there's little to protect.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
